The Blues Historian~~Keeping the Blues Alive

“Yesterday and Today” out now by The Blues Historian…

It’s jump blues, doo wop, & funky soul

The Blues Historian blogs about the two things he likes the most—blues and history.  What started as a web place where his college students could learn about blues artists has become a worldwide blues community blogspot and internet radio station!

His own blues music spins now on a new CD. The accomplished pianist, with his band, The Tom Gary Band, has recorded his own music from the past 13 years on, “Yesterday and Today.”  He talked recently to TTHC about his new CD:  “I started it over ten years ago with my last real working band.  We recorded several songs, but only five of them were ready to put on CD.  Unfortunately the band broke up before we could get back in the studio to finish it.  When my new band started to gel, then I figured it was time to finish what I started.  It is a great disc, full of jump blues, doo wop, and some funky soul.”
The Blues Historian supports the blues and blues artists!  He has featured 40 Taylor Hicks music videos.  Taylor was not always on the Bluesman’s radar, but Keb Mo was.  When he went looking for a Keb Mo video, he was surprised to find Keb Mo and Taylor Hicks together in a Chicago appearance; he was sold on Taylor Hicks.  Read what sold him and why Taylor is “the real deal.”   Check out our interview:    Blues Historian Interview on Connections
