Grease and The Shadow Tour opens in Cincinnati

After the frigid temperatures in Chicago, Cincinnati may seem like the tropics to Taylor and the Grease cast. He talked to the local media about his entry into acting and his new music.
"On Jan. 20, he reprises that feat [ice cream entry] when the national tour of 'Grease,' in which the American Idol plays the part of Teen Angel, the spirit that tries to convince Frenchy to finish high school.

"'It was an intense way to start an acting career,' Hicks said. 'But she stays in school every show, so I must be doing OK.'"

~~ "'I've spent a lot of time focusing on my songwriting and there are some really good story songs on the record.'

"The record is being produced by Simon Climie, who recently has worked with Eric Clapton and Michael McDonald, and the musicians include players from Clapton's band.

"Climie 'fits the vein I come in as an artist.'" (daytondailynews.com)

Taylor plays the Grand Prize game for B&GC...
For the kid in all of us, Taylor Hicks
stepped up to the black line and played Bozo’s Grand Prize game at WGN studios this past week to benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs in the Chicago area. He had earlier recalled his fondness for watching the game as a child before going off to school every day. In an interview with Dean Richards, Taylor said he knew it was time to leave when they got to the fifth bucket. Taylor announced the donation as he prepared to lean into his game and drop balls into five buckets for a gift of $2500 to the organization that provides neighborhood clubs with recreational and educational programs.

Taylor has supported many charitable organizations including appearances for Children’s Miracle Network and St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
