Taylor's music video
launches on Yahoo!
The inspiration of immensely talented film director, Jake Davis and the intensely moving soul music of Taylor Hicks launches onto the music video scene this week when “What’s Right is Right” is released by Yahoo Music February 17. "What's Right is Right"~The Video by Taylor Hicks,
The first music video for the platinum recording artist doing the single from his upcoming album, The Distance, was created by Manhattan’s award winning video director, who said he was inspired by the "iconic" for this film. He and Taylor worked in Chicago for the video shoot in January when the voice could be seen in the frigid night air. In a series of previews he dubbed “The Perfect Frames,” Jake released stunning screencaps of Taylor like the one above. “What’s Right is Right”~The Video is out Tuesday on Yahoo Music!
Taylor’s videographer, Jake Davis, talks to TTHC…
Jake Davis candidly talked to TTHC about working with Taylor, fans braving the blizzard, and what’s most important in a music video. He was asked if it makes a difference whether you are drawn to the music of an artist or if you can find inspiration regardless.
“As a video director ultimately the music has to speak to you. If the music isn't telling you anything then you're not going to make a great video. Thankfully with this one the music was doing plenty of talking. ...What's important to me is getting better every time out. I'm really proud of what we were able to accomplish with this video on a creative, emotional and technical level.”
