Tracking Street Week...
“What’s Right is Right” was No. 1 on A/C Radio!
People Magazine: The Distance gets 3 ½ (out of 4) stars.
“Maybe You Should”and “What’s Right is Right” are top picks.
“…it reminds us why he took the crown.” Hicks was able to “… score with his white-boy R&B on tracks like "Maybe You Should,” a ballad with shades of blues and gospel, and “What’s Right is Right,” the Michael McDonald-esque highlight.”
Band member Brian Gallagher talked to TTHC...
"I really enjoy playing live on tour. Each night is different even if only slightly. The joy I get from playing music is the interaction between musicians. It really is like having a conversation. I also love the studio. The one thing about the studio is that it is forever. What you put down stays there always. Nothing like having that magic captured when it is right. ...I am very proud of the recording I have done and very happy with the work I did on Taylor's new recording." Interview with Brian

In the first shadow tour show after the release of The Distance, Taylor Hicks will perform the music from the album on the Roxy stage in West Hollywood, Wednesday, March 18th. The whomp party promises a stellar setlist of new music from The Distance, now on the street and playing the numbers.
Taylor talked about the record last week to MyFox.Al: “There’s a lot of different styles on the record. …I took the approach that I wanted to write in the different genres that reflect me as an artist.” [There is] “…a little bit of country music, a little bit of soul, blues…I have all those styles and influences…it’s apparent on the record.”
TTHC will be there and will bring you the latest. See you at Roxy's!

"Grease" plays the Pantages...
"Grease" goes Hollywood with a two-week run from March 10-22 at the Pantages Theatre in Los Angeles. Mr. Hicks brought the glamour!
LA Times: “Mr. Hicks amps up the glamour factor”...
“And then there’s Mr. Hicks, who shows these youngsters what stage presence is all about. Resplendent in a black suit glittering with rhinestones, tongue firmly in cheek, Hicks appears as the Teen Angel who advises Frenchy to go back to class in the sly “Dropout.” If only all guidance counselors had such a sense of event. (Hicks will not be performing March 18 and 19). Yes, he’s shamelessly plugging his new album, “The Distance,” but Mr. Hicks amps up the glamour factor and is a welcome guest. I just wish he’d played his harmonica longer.” (Charlotte Stoudt, LA Times)
Next "Grease" stop is the Golden Gate Theatre in San Francisco for a four-week run from March 24 - April 19.
