"Well worth the listen..."
Blogcritic's Sherry Lippman on The Distance: "Overall The Distance is a solid album with plenty to please Taylor Hicks fans. There are several memorable tracks that show off Taylor as a serious musician and singer. ...It would also be nice to hear a lot more of Hicks’ harmonica playing. ...the albums strengths lie in Hicks’ strengths. He is an engaging and strong vocalist who clearly cares about his music. The Distance is well worth the listen." (Sherry Lippman,blogcritic.com)

The LA Times was there and liked the party...
Taylor Hicks brought his new album, The Distance, to the stage at Roxy’s Wednesday night. Writer Leslie Anne Wiggins of the LA Times wrote of Taylor: “performing a long set with energetic charisma, reminiscent of Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine. …the place was relatively full….

“He opened with "The Distance," the title track from his latest album, which was released March 10. Dressed in a black shirt, black blazer and jeans, Hicks looked slender and handsome onstage.

“Hicks didn't shy away from his signature funky dance moves, but his strong voice held its own against all the instruments involved -- including harmonica and tambourine. He dedicated "Nineteen," the fourth song on "The Distance," to all the troops, calling it a "war hero story." "What's Right Is Right" was the highlight, as on the album...”

Teen Angel at the Pantages...
Just down the street from where Taylor Hicks won American Idol at the Kodak Theatre in 2006, he performs as Teen Angel in Grease at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood. There have been many stops between then and now. It must have been a little like coming full circle. The show on St. Patrick’s Day was a relatively full house. Taylor’s entrance from the ice cream cone is always a showstopper. Frenchie brings down the house with her “I voted for you” line and her ever-changing line after they do a bump. This night, she cooed…”Do it again,” and the house roared. "Grease" closed in LA Sunday.

Next "Grease" stop is the Golden Gate Theatre in San Francisco for a four-week run from March 24 - April 19.    Complete Grease Tour Schedule
