Taylor Hicks Live
at the Warfield!

Taylor Hicks live in concert is on DVD now!
"Whomp at the Warfield"
was captured in San Francisco May 9, 2007, as Taylor swung through the West on his first Modern Whomp Solo Tour. An eclectic setlist includes classic rock, soul and acoustic ballads. Tracks caught on the DVD are: Gonna Move, Give Me Tonight, Heart and Soul, Just to Feel That Way, My Friend, The Deal, Hold on to Your Love, Wherever I Lay My Hat, Soul Thing, Heaven Knows, The Maze, The Right Place, The Runaround, The Fall, Badge, and Naked in the Jungle.

Taylor Hicks was everywhere on stage playing harmonica, guitar and even the organ as he danced and sang his way through a fun night at the Warfield. It was Taylor Hicks in classic high-voltage form. It’s been reported that Taylor’s own acoustic song, “The Fall” and the Cream rock classic, “Badge” are worth the purchase of the DVD. A “funked up” version of “Naked in the Jungle” tagging “Dance to the Music” and that old-fashioned “Medicated Goo” just adds to the fun!

“Whomp at the Warfield” is due for release February 17, 2009.

Idols hit the road with Broadway shows!
Taylor Hicks told the news media last week that he was “pretty confident” that Grease may come to Birmingham! He might be crossing paths with another Alabama native and fellow Idol, Ruben Studdard, who's touring with “Ain’t Misbehavin’”. Taylor appears in Grease as Teen Angel, and as himself singing the single release from his new album.

Taylor Hicks records new album
The studio was home this past week for Taylor Hicks as he worked on recording his new album due out February 10, 2009. He sent an audio blog to fans from his reverberating isobooth.

About two years ago, Taylor was also in the recording studio with Producer Matt Serletic for his post-Idol album, “Taylor Hicks,” which dropped December 12, 2006. He spoke then of what an experience it was for him to have the opportunity afforded by American Idol to be in the studio recording.

This time around Taylor Hicks is more in charge of his own destiny. He has said that this is truly the best music he has ever written and has signed with independent music distributor, Artist To Market for greater control over the album. The yet-untitled CD is being released on his own recording label, Modern Whomp Records. He calls it a “Snapshot of many things going on in his life, now and a few stories from his past”. It “is some of the best writing he has done to date.” (PRNewsWire)
