Taylor Hicks
   Stage-eye view in JAX

Stunning images from Tree Lighting in JAX...
Professional photographer, Steve Martine, captured striking pictures of Taylor performing at Jacksonville's Tree Lighting ceremonies last week. He caught the view from the stage as Taylor sees it. The crowd was estimated at 20,000 for the outdoor concert on a cold night in Florida! To view Steve's other photos from Jacksonville, visit: www.stevenmartine.com

New review of "The Distance" surfaces
Either this is just being reintroduced on the internet or we missed it when The Distance was released in March. It is a good review of the album and Taylor Hicks, the song writer and musician.

"If You Think You Know the Music of Taylor Hicks, “The Distance” Will Show You a New Side.

"'The Distance'” is listed as a pop album. Taylor infuses his own soulful take with his Modern Whomp Sound and in my opinion it can best be described as Americana music. "The CD “The Distance” takes the listener on a journey through amazing story songs of love, humor, heartache, the effects of war and growing together as one.

After Willis gives his impression of each track, he reviews the musician:

"So my assessment of this CD is that Taylor Hicks went out on his own, created his own label, worked his butt off looking for the right songs and nailed it. It’s clear that Taylor Hicks put his own personality and creativity into the making of this CD. Taylor has shown growth both as a musician and as a songwriter." Taylor remembers our troops with a free download of "19"

"Honoring our country’s servicemen and women is something that we should all celebrate together. For Veterans Day, I’d like to illustrate my appreciation for those who have served in defense of our livelihood and country by offering a free download of my song, 19. Featured on my latest album, The Distance, 19 is a patriotic song about a soldier’s call to duty. Help me celebrate the millions of veterans who have served. Continue to support organizations that help make a difference in the lives of our veterans, current servicemen, and their families. Enjoy 19!    For more information, visit taylorhicks.com

Escape from the Iron Bowl
It is the biggest game in Alabama—Alabama vs. Auburn in the Iron Bowl. Taylor, who attended Auburn, rated a skybox on the Alabama side. Taylor tweeted a view of the sunset from his skybox. After Alabama narrowly won, it was a mob scene even if you weren’t an American Idol and Broadway star. If you are, you escape the crowds with a security escort and a mystery driver fondly tagged “redneck” by Mr. Hicks. The fun is documented with commentary by Taylor on his website at:    www.taylorhicks.ning.com

New CD in 2010...
According to Alabama resident and fan, Lanaesgift, Taylor was interviewed in the stadium at The Iron Bowl by Fox6 and revealed that a new CD is coming “next summer!”

Taylor to sing National Anthem at NFL game
Taylor also told Fox that he will be singing the National Anthem for the important Tampa Bay Bucaneers /Charlotte Panther football game on December 6, his last day of performing in “Grease” in Charlotte which plays at the Owens Theatre December 1-6.
