Whomp after hours...
Taylor takes whomp to the streets in an American Idol look-a-like Shadow Tour. After his Grease performance, he will play after hours in small clubs and venues replicating a similar routine during the AI tour when he met up with his old bandmates for "surprise guest" appearances.
Three events are on the Shadow Tour so far. More are expected to be scheduled. Taylor has said that he wants to perform in an intimate setting in each city he visits.
Shadow Tour Schedule:
January 17~~Martyr's in Chicago~~
January 24~~the 20th Century Theatre in Cincinnati
February 7~~Ram’s Head On Stage, Annapolis MD.
“..the thrill of making music is putting everything you’ve got into your live performance. When you’re onstage, that’s when you are most alive as a musician. As much fun as it can be to play music by yourself, there’s no replacement for that live-wire energy and indefinable interplay between you and your audience. ….for me, the show’s the thing.” ("Heart Full of Soul," by Taylor Hicks)
"Early Works" by Taylor Hicks~~original music from the young soul singer just beginning his journey. Remastered tracks from "In Your Time," recorded when Taylor was 19 years old, and from "Under the Radar," released in 2005. It's classic Taylor Hicks. Available at Target Stores and online at:

“Thousands of candles can be lit from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared.”
Buddha quotes (Hindu Prince Gautama Siddharta, the founder of Buddhism, 563-483 B.C.)
When Taylor Hicks wrote his memoir, "Heart Full of Soul," at the young age of 31, he had an inspirational story to tell. He had come a long way and was just starting a new journey as 2006 American Idol.
“To sing to the whole world, you’ve got to do it one person at a time—at least, that’s how it feels for me. …Singing from your soul isn’t about how many notes you can hit or how long you can hold t hem. It’s all about intimacy and honesty. It’s about sharing your story in a song—whether it happens to be a song you wrote or one you decided to make your own.
“The only job I ever really wanted comes down to looking somebody in the eyes and telling them the truth—telling them my truth. Music has given me almost everything that’s good in my life. Mother music, I call it. When something gives you so much, you damn well better give back everything you can in return. If you’re going to dare to pick up that microphone, you better have something to say, something to share.” (Heart Full of Soul" by Taylor Hicks, released in 2007 by Random House)
Taylor releases his new album, "The Distance"on MARCH 10, 2009.

Grease's winter express plows through the Midwest
Broadway Across America's Grease Tour braved the cold but heated up the stage in Michigan and Ohio this month. Taylor as Teen Angel has received a very warm reception from theatre goers. From Michigan: “The highlight of the show was Taylor Hicks, who played Teen Angel. ...Taylor is a SINGER. That was clear. The tone of his voice was so different than the rest. It blew everyone away.” (Willett Matters blog)
