"Maybe You Should"
Taylor’s intense performance of "Maybe You Should" at the Beau Rivage recently held the audience spellbound as they listened in silence. He has said that a well known female country singer is looking at recording it.

Taylor Hicks returned to home ground on the Gulf Coast Friday night as he headlined at the SOLD OUT Beau Rivage in Biloxi, MS.

The Gulf Coast came out to see their Alabama son. Many of his old band mates joined him—Sam Gunderson, Brian Less, Jeff Lopez, and Jay Smith (from his first CD, “In Your Time”). Donna Hall was invited onto stage and sang vocals with him for The Distance, Seven Mile BreakdownIt’s All Right. She is from nearby Mobile, and was an original member of the '70s Southern Rock group Wet Willie. She's best known as one of the original Williettes.

In remembrance of the date, 9/11, Taylor gave a shout out to our troops and the audience stood as Taylor sang the very emotional, "Nineteen," the story of an American hero.

A new fan video, "Nineteen," by Karin and Allyn was released this week for 9/11.   Nineteen

"Grease" DJ Dominic Fortuna talked to Houston Press about Taylor
"Taylor and I connect pretty good. He and I are cut from the same cloth. We're both musicians that have gigged all our lives, we're just blue collar working stiffs that just work our butts off and all of a sudden we're actors," he says.

"I respect the guy's voice. I think he's got an unbelievable charisma or energy in his voice when he sings. It really wakes up your senses when you hear him. Whoa -- that guy is not holding back." (blogs.houstonpress.com)

Taylor gives take on Ellen Degeneres' joining AI judges
Taylor joined fellow Season Five competitor Bucky Covington speaking to the CBS Early Show last week about Ellen's replacing Paula Abdul on the AI judges panel. When questioned about the musical qualifications of Ellen, Taylor said he thought she would bring entertainment value to the show and may have more musical acumen than people know. (CBS Early Show)
